This is the end of my six week shave project with the Colonel Conk shave products. It should be no surprise that at the end of week six my skin has a nice soft and supple feel. It should also be no surprise that the Colonel Conk products have provided a smooth shave with a great post shave feel every time. These last six weeks of shaving with the Colonel Conk products have proved to me that their shaving products bring nothing but value to your shaving routine. For the majority of the six week project I used the shaving products from Colonel Conk’s natural shaving line.
I had the use of two different shave creams both from the Colonel Conk natural shave line. The ‘High Desert Breeze’ Tea Tree & Eucalyptus and The ‘Santa Fe Cedar’ Robust Cedar & Rosemary scent from the Colonel Conk Natural shave line contains no Parabens, Synthetic Fragrances, Artificial Colors or Dyes Formaldehyde, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Petrolateum, Animal Testing or (DEA). The natural shaving products from Colonel Conk are also Cruelty Free, Wheat Free, Nut Free and Gluten Free. The only thing that keeps these products from being all natural is the less than 1% of preservatives to keep your product fresh for a longer time. Both scents of the Colonel Conk shave cream provided thick creamy lather that was both robust and comfortable at the same time. Along with the natural shave cream I also had the chance of shaving for seven days with the ‘High Desert Breeze’ Tea Tree and Eucalyptus soap puck from the natural line of shaving products. I also shaved with a glycerin based soap puck for a couple of weeks.
The lather between the natural line of shave products and the Glycerin based shave soap is very comparable in thickness and robustness. Both the natural line and glycerin based soap made every shave for the last six weeks great. I’ve enjoyed each shave for the last six weeks and plan on continuing to use the Colonel conk shave products in the future. Love your products and you will love the results. Thank you and have a #Baldtastic day.
Welcome to week five of the six week shave project with the Colonel Conk shave products. Once again at the end of week five I can honestly say that I have had no problems with irritation, razor burn, cuts or nicks while using the Colonel Conk products. This six week project is coming to its end and I wanted to talk a little bit about what I think is an important aspect of a shaving routine that also adds value to your skin care regimen. Before I get to that I want to also talk about shaving routines in general. I think a successful shaving routine consist of products that not only improves the quality of shave you are getting, but also the integrity of your skin as well.
I have had the privilege of reviewing the Colonel Conk natural shave oil and after shave balm these last six weeks and I really feel that they have added value to each shave when used. The natural shaving oil and after shave balm won’t clog the pores of your skin or leave behind a greasy residue. These natural products soak into your skin quickly and one of the best parts is they don’t contain a lot of ingredients that are harmful or will irritate your skin as they are being used. The natural shaving oil and after shave balm do not contain Parabens, Synthetic Fragrances, Artificial Colors or Dyes, Formaldehyde, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Petrolateum, Animal Testing, Cocamide Diethanolamine, Cruelty Free, Wheat Free, Nut Free and Gluten Free. The natural line of shaving products contains less than 1% preservatives that help keep your product fresh for a longer time so you can enjoy the benefits of these natural products every time you use them in your shaving routine.
There’s no doubt about it, the Colonel Conk shaving products provide a comfortable shave with a very creamy and robust lather that has just as much slickness and smoothness. Through out the last five weeks I’ve practiced a technique that has improved each shave’s comfort and smoothness level. This technique has also increased the slickness level that only increases the quality of shave and post shave feel each and every time. The technique I’m talking about if warming your lather. I’m not talking about warm lather that starts of warm and is cold by the end of your shave. I’m referring to keeping your lather warm from the start of your shave to the end of your shave. It’s very easy to do and you may already have the materials in your shave den or kitchen to do it.
Warm lather on your skin has a very luxurious and soothing feel if its done right. The consistency is important. If the consistency is to thin in the beginning then your lather will be to runny. The lather needs to be on the thicker side the constant warmth will thin the consistency a little bit so the thicker the lather the better in the beginning. I prepared my lather in a smaller size porcelain apothecary shave bowl and submerged it halfway in a round plastic container that’s wider in diameter than my apothecary shave bowl. The handle on the side of the shave bowl allows it to rest comfortably in one spot and prevents it from moving around. The hot water surrounds the porcelain shave bowl and heats up the lather. Rework your lather several times during your shave to keep the warmth consistent through out the lather. The warm lather will feel fantastic on your skin every time and provide a more comfortable shave. My six week shave project with the Colonel Conk shaving products is starting to come to an end. I can’t wait to see what week six is like. Love your products and you will love the results. Thank you and have a #Baldtastic day.
At the end of week four of the six week shave project with the shaving products from Colonel Conk. My skin still feels soft and supple. The skin on my Dome and face has had a nice shine these last four weeks that I attribute to the Colonel Conk shaving products. Other than a puck of shaving soap that contains glycerin, all of the other shaving products that I’ve been using every day have all been from their natural line of shaving products. Their natural line is 99% natural leaving a small percentage to preservatives to keep your shaving cream fresh for a longer period of time and shelf life. In week three I focused on shaving all week with the ‘High Desert Breeze’ puck of shave soap from the Colonel Conk Natural line of shaving products.
I decided to follow the same path in week four but also add the Colonel Conk shave puck with glycerin to my weekly shave routine as well. I switched between the two shave pucks every day for seven days. One day with the natural shave puck and the next day with the shave puck that contains glycerin. With each shave I compared lather and slickness. What I found out at the end of the week comparing notes is that there is little difference between the two shaving pucks. In my opinion other than ingredients the only difference is that the shave puck that contains glycerin provides a lather that’s a little creamier with a little more slickness. The shave puck from Colonel Conks natural product line provides a smooth and comfortable shave as well with slick and creamy lather as well, the glycerin puck’s is just a step above the other.
I had a difficult time each night for seven days deciding which one I wanted to use for my nightly shave. I found it very hard to switch every night between the two because both pucks provided a lot of lather that was creamy and full of slickness. Whether you decide to choose the glycerin based shave soap puck or the natural shave soap puck from Colonel Conk one thing is for sure. It will be smooth shaves with soft and supple skin every time. If your decision is based on ingredients then the soap puck from Colonel Conk natural product line is going to win every time. The Colonel Conk Natural shaving product line contains no Parabens, Synthetic Fragrances, Artificial Colors or Dyes, Formaldehyde, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Petrolateum, Animal Testing, Cocamide Diethanolamine, Cruelty Free, Wheat Free, Nut Free and Gluten Free. A quality shaving product with quality skin care attributes that still provides a great lather that’s both smooth and creamy with just as much slickness as well.
Week four was a great week of shaving with the soap pucks from Colonel Conk. Try them both for yourself and see which one you like best. It’s perfectly fine if you can’t make that decision it just means you buy both so you can have the best of both worlds. Love your products and you will love the results. Have a #Baldtastic day!
